Workplaces are a perfect storm for accidents. Lots of moving parts, on the one hand; a tendency for workers’ attention to drift, on the other. “Autopilot” is a term that crops up again and again when describing these dangers. We took that analogy to its dramatic extreme, and drafted in the most famous autopilot of them all. We went back to the model-maker who worked on the “Airplane” films and commissioned a series of new variants of the man himself. It’s a humorous way of landing a very serious point.
